The Story of Lola! Love
Lola! Love, formally known as Lola Blank, founder and principal of LHB Consulting and Coaching, is a certified law of attraction life coach whose mission is to inspire people to believe in, create and live the lives they truly desire.
A Bronx, N.Y., native who performed and worked around the world before making her home in Southern California, Lola!’s motto is this: “Anything is possible, you just have to believe!” She helps her coaching clients explore the endless options available to them, create big dreams, then tap into and use the power inside them to make their dreams come true.
Lola! is a magnetic personality who has successfully done all these things herself. As a coach with a background in entertainment, Lola! has clients in all fields who benefit from learning the secrets of her personal radiance, and her ability to attract the abundance, joy and fulfillment that characterize her own life.
During her 30-plus years in the entertainment industry, Lola! worked professionally as an actor, singer, dancer, choreographer, producer, manager and consultant. As a result, successful presentation is second nature to her, and it is just one among many invaluable skills she’s now passionate about helping her clients apply in numerous other settings.
Lola! offers individualized and group coaching to people from all walks of life, from entertainment professionals to corporate movers and shakers. She has clients in North and South America, as well as in New Zealand, Singapore, Japan and Australia.
While working as a talent manager, Lola! learned how important it is for people to feel strong and comfortable in themselves if they wish to power through perceived limits to their highest levels of personal and professional success. As a result, she takes a whole-person approach to supporting clients’ growth in the areas of career, finances, relationships, spirituality or any others they may choose.
Lola! earned her certification from the Quantum Success Coaching Academy upon leaving the world of entertainment, where her amazing experiences included work with one of the greatest entertainers in the history of the world, James Brown. As a dancer and singer, she spent ten years as part of the James Brown Review, performing with the Godfather of Soul and serving as a goodwill ambassador across five continents. She was featured with Brown on TV variety shows including Soul Train, Midnight Special and In Concert. She also appears with him in the Oscar-winning documentary When We Were Kings, and the subsequent music documentary Soul Power, which document the Ali vs Foreman “Rumble in the Jungle” in Zaire.
For more than 20 years, Lola! ran her own management company, LHB Entertainment, which specialized in guiding the careers of a select group of young, up-and-coming artists including her son Kenn Michael, formerly known as Kenny Blank (www.kennmichael.com). She remains an honorary board member of the Talent Managers Association, Inc.
Lola! is a drama graduate of New York’s High School of Performing Arts, the school featured in Fame. She has appeared in films including Up the Down Staircase, The Landlord and The Super. She also performed in countless off-Broadway productions with Vinnette Carroll’s Urban Arts Corps, Joseph Papp’s Shakespeare Festival, and the Robert Hooks Group Theater Workshop, which became the prestigious Negro Ensemble Company. Also on stage, Lola! was one of the “3 Blacque Chix” who co-created, co-produced, co-wrote and performed the stage play Herotique-Aahh, “a hot sexistential comedy” that appeared at the National Black Theatre Festival in North Carolina, as well as in Los Angeles.
Lola!’s varied other experiences include service as VP and co-owner of Blank Productions Inc., one the largest all-digital multimedia production facilities between New York and Boston, with locations in Stamford and Greenwich, Conn., Hollywood and New York City.
She has produced and recorded No. 1 hits for Island Records, and her publishing companies Lola-La and Lo Lo Lo Music hold publishing rights to music from numerous television shows, including The Montel Williams Show, as well as more than 200 titles on the Muzak Network. Her commercial credits include the Pringle’s jingle (Once you pop).
Lola! is featured in the award-winning documentary film Strange Combination, about cult underground recording artist and producer Arthur Russell, and her outrageous vocals are featured on his phenomenal hit Bango.
A graduate of Hofstra University, Lola! also is a licensed speech and language pathologist who taught in the New York City public schools for eight years as a speech therapist, language coordinator and director of an early language intervention program for students ranging in age from kindergarten through high school.
Outside her work life, Lola! believes in “paying it forward” and volunteers her time mentoring foster children and high school students in the arts. Her passion is exposing young people to opportunities in the wide world beyond their neighborhoods, helping them dream bigger dreams and teaching them how to make them come true.
